Our Background:

-Midwest Welding and Machine, Inc. started in 1944 in an old blacksmith shop near downtown Bozeman, MT. (hence the anvil in our logo)
-In 1968 Chuck Westlake became the new owner, and in 1972 moved into a new facility north of Bozeman.  Welding, machining, and industrial hardware sales.
-In 1987 Kevin Brownlee joined the company to expand into fabricating structural steel and rebar. Also in 1987 the company changed names to Midwest Industries, Inc. to better reflect the diversification of the company.
-In 1997 Phil Bailey joined the company as Production Manager and the structural steel fabrication part of the company continued to grow.
-In 2006 Kevin and Phil, along with Randy Chamberlin, purchased the structural steel fabrication part of the company and named the new company Midwest Steel Industries, Inc. and in 2007 moved to a new larger facility north of Belgrade, MT. (Midwest Welding and Machine, Inc. returned to their "pre-structural steel" name, facility, and specialties).

Midwest Steel Industries is proud of our heritage, and the hard working people that build that heritage. We continue that tradition with an incredible assembly of professional talent dedicated to providing fabricated steel on time and error free, so your project has every chance to succeed.
